How do I know my bra size?

To know your bra size, there are two measurements to take into account. The chest measurement, which corresponds to the circumference of your bust, and the cup size which will define the volume of the breasts; and therefore the depth of the cup.

Measure your chest size

The basis of the measurement is there; Start by measuring your chest measurement to then know your cup size.

Choose a place where you can take your time in complete peace; It is important that you are undressed and in a standing position. Stand up straight, we will start measuring your chest measurement.

• Standing, place the tape measure under the breasts, making sure to keep the tape flat. Also be careful not to tighten it too much or too little.
• It's about finding the size closest to your body, the comfort of your days in a bra lies in taking this measurement ideally. You should be able to breathe comfortably and not squeeze the tape measure against your skin.
• Now that you have measured your bust measurement in centimeters, write it down. You can find the size table below.

If you don't have a tape measure, you can take some string or cord which you can then measure with a traditional tape measure.

Measure your cup size

While keeping in mind the same tips as for the first measurement, we will look at how to know the cup depth for your bra.

• Place the meter, flat, on your chest at the strongest point; you will need to go under the armpits and over the shoulder blades.
• The meter should never crush the breasts, but only rest at the tip, where the breast is strongest.
• Write down the result in centimeters and subtract this measurement with the first number found.

For example, you found 80cm first and 97cm now you perform the operation 97 - 80 = 17 cm. This difference corresponds to the depth of your cup.

Find the result in the cup table below and easily find your reference bra size. If possible, check the size recommended by the manufacturer which will be the most accurate before your purchase.

Is my bra the right size?

Unless you want to throw them all out and buy a bunch again, now is the time to check which ones you already have . First clue, if it is the right size, it is forgotten. Conversely, if you constantly have to put it back in place or adjust it again and again, throw it away without scruple!

All price ranges exist on the lingerie market. Faced with a wide choice, you will find the shoe that suits you. And contrary to popular belief, the more expensive is not necessarily better.

The volume of the breasts goes over the cup

Too small ! Your chest is oppressed in cups that are not suitable for their shape. This may be good news, you have probably gained a cup since purchasing this bra. If you had made this choice voluntarily to give more fullness to your neckline, opt for a push-up which will do what is necessary without impacting the nature of your body shape.

The underwires bother me

With time of use, washing and natural wear, it is possible to see the underwires become dislodged in the center of the chest or on the outside. The cup that has an underwire must be the right size and the part with the underwire must be glued just under the breast. If it rides up, the cup is too small. In both cases, forget that bra and treat yourself to one. It’s about your well-being.

I have marks or cuts on my ribs

This time, it is the turn of the back which is misinterpreted. If you already wore it on the widest clasp, don't wear it anymore. In addition to being harmful to your body, the role of the bra is not efficient. The skin will tend to rise over it creating bulge shapes which are unsightly and uncomfortable.

How to enhance your neckline?

This is the crux of the matter when it comes to enhancing your chest on a daily basis. Whether you have shapes or are smaller, you should always choose a bra that fits your size and matches your body shape. The importance of correctly placing the chosen model, especially when purchasing, should not be neglected. Some rules to follow:

• Adjust the size of the straps to your body. Between the top of the bust and the center of the breasts, the height differs from one woman to another (even if they are the same size). When buying a new bra, this is the first thing to do. Remember to check this point regularly.
• The center of the cup, called the separator, must be attached to the thorax. If it is not, the chosen hat is too small.
• Then pay attention to the back; it is imperative that the back is ideally positioned in line with the frame. The back should not ride up. If so, you will need to retighten at the clip or change size.
• As we have seen in the problems of an incorrectly sized bra, the underwire must be placed in the crease of the breast and pressed against the skin.

Choose the right bra structure

There are several models or structures of bra which are more or less adapted to a particular garment, or a desired result. Depending on the volume of your breasts, certain cuts should be avoided and others should be favored.

If you want to enhance a V neckline under a tight top for example, the push-up bra is best suited to highlight the center of the bust and bring the volume of the breasts closer to the middle of the neckline.

For strapless tops, or strapless dresses, the bralette is surely a wise choice. You can also opt for an adhesive bra which will give a smooth appearance to the chest, without providing (or almost no) support.

For blouses and more flowing clothes, you can opt for a model without underwire if your chest allows it, or prefer a balcony model if you want to enhance the curve of your chest. Think practical!
